West Ham United have allowed numerous young talents to leave the club over the past few years.

It has to be said, West Ham have almost exclusively got those decisions 100% spot on.

West Ham have some very exciting young stars coming through the ranks at the London Stadium right now.

However, to actually make it at the very highest level of the game, these youngsters need to have something extremely special about them.

Will the likes of Freddie Potts, George Earthy, Ollie Scarles or Lewis Orford be playing Premier League football in five year’s time?

The bottom line is that is would be a safe bet to answer no to that question, despite how good you might think they are.

That said, it seems like the Hammers did get one decision wrong, by allowing one teenager to depart the club.

Ex-West Ham youngster Divine Mukasa has 17 goals, 25 assists in 35 games

Divine Mukasa left West Ham to join Manchester City when he was just 15 back in September 2023.

And the teenager has been in scintillating form for Man City’s youth teams ever since then.

The 17-year-old has bagged a spectacular 17 goals and 25 assists in 35 games for the under-18s this season (Transfermarkt).

Mukasa is an attacking midfielder by trade, and he possesses truly exceptional technical ability.

Perhaps the biggest compliment anyone can give the former West Ham youngster is that Pep Guardiola is said to be a big fan of him.

However, City may now have a real task on their hands if they are to keep the 17-year-old at The Etihad.

Bayern Munich want to sign Divine Mukasa

German giants Bayern Munich are keen to sign the Man City teenager this summer according to Fabrizio Romano.

The mere fact that Bayern are in for him proves what an unbelievable talent he is.

West Ham should have fought so much harder to keep Divine Mukasa at the club, rather than just let him walk away to eventually link up with Manchester City.

The 17-year-old is quite clearly a superstar in the making.

Whilst West Ham have got a lot of decisions right when it comes to letting young players leave, Divine Mukasa is definitely the one that got away.
