Taty Castellanos has made a solid start to life at West Ham United.
While the January transfer window signing still has a lot to prove at West Ham, forward Castellanos has impressed during the early stages of his career in east London.
The Argentine joined West Ham from Lazio earlier this month and is already off the mark in claret and blue, having scored the winner against QPR in the FA Cup.
Who will prove to be a better signing and why?! 🤔
There have been promising signs from the 27-year-old, as well as fellow new arrival Pablo Felipe.
Indeed, Castellanos has impressed at West Ham and appears to have settled in well, even if there is a long way to go.
Arriving at a West Ham in crisis cannot have been easy. Luckily, Castellanos had an ally in the dressing room – though one that could soon leave in the form of Guido Rodriguez.
Taty Castellanos hails Guido Rodriguez
The two know each other from the Argentina national side.
Rodriguez, of course, formed part of the squad who lifted the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in what was a crowning moment for Lionel Messi.
Urmmmmm….what?! How would you feel if West Ham SOLD Summerville to Spurs?! 🤔
Still, despite having that kind of pedigree, things haven’t really worked out for the midfielder since he joined the Hammers from Real Betis in 2024 on a free transfer.
He may have made an unseen impact, however, and that’s by helping his compatriot settle in.
Speaking to West Ham’s official website, Castellanos said: “I knew Guido [Rodriguez] from the Argentina national team, which helped me. Sharing a dressing room with a World Cup winner is always great!”

The latest on Guido Rodriguez’s future at West Ham
Rodriguez has been linked with a move away from West Ham this month, although nothing has advanced just yet.
There have been suggestions from Spanish club Marca that the Hammers are simply demanding too much money from Valencia to sign him.
With Mateus Fernandes, Tomas Soucek, Soungoutou Magassa and Freddie Potts ahead of him in the pecking order, it does feel as if his time in east London is up.
Still, if he’s helped Taty settle in and the striker eventually scores the goals that keeps West Ham up, then Rodriguez has certainly played something of a part.
