Sergio Ramos to West Ham quips hugely popular football account with nearly 650,000 followers

Legendary defender Sergio Ramos will join West Ham United on a free transfer after leaving Real Madrid this week.

‘Great signing if this comes off’ ExWHUemployee says in fresh update on West Ham move

That’s the quip made about West Ham by hugely popular football social media account Odds Bible to its near 650k following.

Ramos has been linked with a host of top clubs already since leaving Madrid after 16 trophy-laden years at the age of 35.

Sergio Ramos to West Ham for shot at Europa League quips hugely popular football account

And the Spain legend wants to join West Ham for a shot at adding the Europa League to his vast collection.

That’s the tongue in cheek claim from Odds Bible who posted a picture of Ramos delivering his farewell press conference with a funny quote about the Hammers.

“I have decided I will be joining West Ham United to win the one trophy I’ve always dreamt of, the Europa League.

“Come on you Irons.”

All good fun but Moyes’s need for centre back is very real

The wind-up post was taken in the spirit it was intended by West Ham fans.

Many showed similar wit by claiming Ramos would not get in the West Ham team ahead of Craig Dawson.

Another – in a nod to former Hammers striker Jordan Hugill – said ‘I bet he can’t wait to walk out to all the bubbles’.

Ironically West Ham are in desperate need of a new centre half this summer.

David Moyes is looking to replace the departed Fabian Balbuena.

But with the likes of PSG, Man United and Man City supposedly in the running for Ramos, West Ham will certainly not be in the running.

Tarkowski and Caleta-Car reported Hammers targets

Moyes wants a younger centre-back anyway that can be West Ham’s main defender over the next four or five years.

That is understandable given West Ham stars Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson turn 34 and 33 respectively next season.

West Ham have been heavily linked with the likes of James Tarkowski and Duje Caleta-Car.

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has ‘set aside major funds’ to get Moyes a top quality defender this summer.

That’s according to a recent report from Football Insider.
