The Three Lions have taken six points from their opening two World Cup qualifiers.

It’s Poland up next for England, and that will be a real test of where we are actually at as a team.

Gareth Southgate is a rather pragmatic coach. There was probably no need to line up as defensively as he did last night night.

It matters little now, however. The boys got the job done and won the game 2-0.

West Ham ace Declan Rice was one of the stand-out performers for England.

Rodney Marsh names Declan Rice as Man of the Match during England World Cup Qualifier

Dec dictated the tempo of the game from a deep lying position last night, much like he has done for the Hammers over the past couple of seasons.

It really was an immensely impressive display from the West Ham youngster.

Rodney Marsh took to Twitter and named Rice as the Man of the the Match for England against Albania:

Rice is clearly very comfortable playing at the very highest level. Let’s hope that the West Ham board are prepared to do everything they can to keep him at the London Stadium for the foreseeable future!
