The return of Sebastien Haller is confirmed as the former West Ham ace made his Borussia Dortmund comeback amid cancer battle.
There is an old saying ‘once a Hammer, always a Hammer’ and that very much applies to ex striker Haller today.
Haller may have divided opinion as a player at West Ham but – by all accounts – was a quiet, unassuming and well-liked member of the squad.
Sometimes clubs and players just don’t fit in football. And West Ham fans are seeing this season that Haller is not the only big money signing who has struggled to get going in the claret and blue under David Moyes.

The Ivory Coast international did so well at Ajax after leaving West Ham that he was snapped up by German giants Dortmund last summer as Erling Haaland’s replacement.
Haller has only had positive things to say about West Ham since leaving, despite things not working out after his then record £45m move to the London Stadium.
But Haller’s career has been put on hold for the last six months after he was diagnosed with cancer just weeks after arriving back in Germany.
A statement from the German club revealed the player’s illness after he felt unwell during a pre-season training camp in Switzerland.
A tumour was discovered on the 28-year-old former West Ham forward’s testicles.
Ex Hammer Haller underwent two surgeries and chemotherapy since and images had emerged of him online during that time without hair and looking understandably frail.
But today we are delighted to bring some hugely positive news on the striker.
Because the return of Haller is confirmed as the former West Ham ace makes his Borussia Dortmund comeback amid his cancer battle.

Video shared by the likes of Sky Sports shows Haller coming off the bench in Dortmund’s friendly against Fortuna Dusseldorf in Marbella.
Haller enters the field to rapturous applause in emotional scenes. The ex West Ham man looks fit and strong again in one of the best videos you will see all week.
Let’s hope Haller can get the next chapter of his life and career properly underway now.
Everyone connected with West Ham will be sending him positive thoughts.
