West Ham appear to be leading the race to sign Leicester City attacker Harvey Barnes this summer.

According to The Telegraph, West Ham United’s impending sale of Declan Rice will put us in the box seat to bring Harvey Barnes to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.

Hammers boss David Moyes has a lot of work to do in the transfer market this summer, if he is to build a squad capable of pushing for a top seven finish once again.

Barnes, 25, is someone who has recently been linked with a move to West Ham.

And now it seems like the Hammers are in pole position to win the race for the powerful winger’s signature…

The Telegraph reckon that the Hammers lead the case for Barnes’ signature ahead of the summer transfer window.

What a stunning signing the 25-year-old would be for West Ham.

Foxes of Leicester have described Barnes as ‘sensational’, and they’re spot on – he really is an elite player.

The Daily Mail suggest that the Foxes will demand around £50 million for the attacker. I suspect we’ll be able to pick him up for slightly less than that though, after Leicester were relegated from the Premier League.

Barnes is direct in the way that he plays and always has his opposing full-back on the back foot. The Leicester ace is absolutely rapid, possesses exceptional technique and is strong with both feet.

The 25-year-old bagged 13 goals in 34 Premier League games for Leicester this season – a fantastic return (Transfermarkt).

Harvey Barnes can play anywhere along the front-line, and that kind of versatility will undoubtedly really appeal to West Ham boss David Moyes. It makes his £50 million price-tag seem like better value as well.

I’ll be over the moon if we sign the Leicester City star this summer.
