A surprise new name is in the frame as West Ham’s David Moyes heir amid fan anger following the Liverpool debacle.
David Moyes’ future at West Ham beyond this season has been the subject of much speculation for over a year now.
The Scot is said to have come close to the sack on more than one occasion last season.
West Ham’s Europa Conference League win is reported to have kept Moyes in the job.
But despite West Ham’s much improved Premier League form and qualifying for the last 16 in Europe for a third season running, reports continue to claim Moyes will be departing when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Moyes in, Moyes out debate is creating a real divide among Hammers supporters.
Some West Ham fans believe Moyes has earned the right to continue building in east London. Others want the club to appoint a progressive, modern, attack-minded coach to replace the manager, who is yet to be offered a new deal.
The likes of Michael Carrick, Xabi Alonso and Gary O’Neil have been linked of late.

Following the 5-1 drubbing at Liverpool on Wednesday night – the second successive away game West Ham have conceded five – many supporters have been highly critical of the manager.
And he has come out fighting, telling those fans they have unrealistic expectations.
But it has only served to stoke the flames of speculation once more it seems.
Because Football Insider claims sources have told them former Sevilla and Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui is a top contender to succeed Moyes at West Ham.
The report highlights that Lopetegui – who West Ham knocked out of the 2021/22 Europa League – has remained living in England after leaving Wolves as he waits for another Premier League job.
And he is said to have turned down Forest believing something bigger and better is around the corner.
Football Insider claims Lopetegui is a ‘top contender’ according to their sources.
The Spaniard was loved by Wolves fans and has previously managed his national team and Real Madrid.
Whether West Ham fans would see him as a considerable step up from Moyes is open to debate.
