Everton reportedly want to appoint West Ham boss David Moyes as manager, if and when Frank Lampard is sacked.
That’s according to The Sun who claim that Sean Dyche is keen to take over at Goodison Park, but the Everton hierarchy are keen on Moyes.
I must say, I would have no problem whatsoever with the Scot being poached by the Toffees!
Moyes took charge of Everton way back in March 2002, and stayed at Goodison Park until 2013. He never won anything with the Merseyside club. The closest he came to a trophy was an FA Cup runners up medal in 2009.
In the end, the Everton fans were tired of Moyes, just like the West Ham fans are now. He is on very thin ice at the London Stadium, and has been warned that Premier League results must improve quickly.
Yesterday’s win over Brentford in the FA Cup would have eased the pressure a little bit, but Moyes is fully aware where his bread is buttered. And if the Hammers don’t pick up results against Wolves and ironically, Everton, in our next two games, he could well be moved on from the London Stadium.
If that ends up happening, it seems as though the 59-year-old could be set for a move to very familiar surroundings indeed…
Moyes wanted by Everton when Frank Lampard is sacked
Lampard has proven to be totally inept during his time in football management.
He is the classic case of a top player going on to become a very average manager. He is probably the only boss in the Premier League who is feeling more heat than Moyes at the moment.
It just seems as though Lampard’s sacking is inevitable. It will surely happen sooner rather than later.
And when it does, The Sun claims that the Toffees will make a move for their former manager David Moyes. I say let him go back to Goodison!
Everton are in the midst of a truly woeful run of form, having not won a Premier League game since October.
The clash between West Ham and the Toffees at the London Stadium in a couple of weeks will be an absolutely huge one.
However, whatever happens there, Frank Lampard will undoubtedly get sacked at some point this season.
And when that happens, if they want to make a move to bring Moyes back to Goodison, they can feel free to do so as far as I’m concerned!
