Winston Reid could make a shock return to West Ham United’s squad in January according to a report from the Athletic.

Incredibly, the 32-year-old hasn’t played a game for the Hammers since March 2018.
The New Zealand international left the London Stadium in February and linked up with MLS side Sporting Kansas City on a season-long loan.
That loan deal has finished now, however, and Winston Reid seems to haven been left in limbo.

The Athletic claims that whilst Kansas would like to sign the 32-year-old centre-back on another season-long loan, they wouldn’t be able to afford his current wage demands.
It is suggested that Reid faces somewhat of a bleak future at the London Stadium. The possibility of the Kiwi returning to West Ham and being part of our 25 man Premier League squad in January is not ruled out, however.
The Athletic claims that Reid proved during his loan stint in America that he still has what it takes to be a key player for David Moyes at the London Stadium.
Moyes himself suggested that he will have a chat with the 32-year-old about his future imminently (The Athletic).

Bringing Reid back to the squad in January seems to be a great option. We could then send Craig Dawson back to Watford, freeing up a potential loan signing in the process.
The 32-year-old Kiwi would be a great person to have around the place what with his experience, quality and ever endearing connection with West Ham.
There wouldn’t be many Hammers fans who would oppose the idea of including Reid in our 25 man Premier League squad list next month.
Let’s just hope that Moyes has not yet given up on the centre-back.
