West Ham United are expected to get some business done on transfer deadline day.
The January transfer window will slam shut at 11pm tonight, and West Ham have to get one or two deals signed, sealed and delivered on deadline day.
Evan Ferguson should complete his move to the Hammers from Brighton imminently, but more work is needed.
Graham Potter is surely aware that he still needs to bolster his central midfield and defensive ranks at the London Stadium as well.
The problem is, with a game against Chelsea tonight to take into account as well, time really is running out for West Ham now.
I’m sure that Potter will focus on the summer transfer window rather than making panic signings today.

However, there is one surprise on the cards for the Hammers.
One player is set to return to the club from a loan spell away.
Player set for West Ham return on deadline day
The Hammers have a lot of work to do over the course of the next 15 hours or so.
It’s frustrating that we’ve left it this long to get some deals done, but it is what it is.
Now, it seems like one player in particular is set for a surprise return to the London Stadium.
James Ward-Prowse is set to return to West Ham on deadline day after a failed loan spell with Nottingham Forest, according to the Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The 30-year-old’s move to the City Ground has proven to be utterly pointless, with just 10 appearances and 483 minutes to his name for Forest so far.
Ward-Prowse was a decent player for us, and actually racked up some very impressive numbers during his first season at the London Stadium.

The midfielder bagged seven goals and seven assists in 37 Premier League games for the Hammers, after his £30 million move from Southampton in the summer of 2023.
If nothing else, he will be a very useful option for Potter and guess what, we will actually have someone who can take a corner and a free-kick again!
I would like to see West Ham make two more signings before the window slams shut on deadline day, aside from the impending arrival of Evan Ferguson.
The addition of a new midfielder and centre-back would do nicely, but I feel like we might have to wait until the summer for that now.
We’ll just have to make do with Ward-Prowse returning from his Forest loan spell.
That really isn’t the end of the world in my opinion.
