West Ham United star James Ward-Prowse has set the record straight on his teammate Jarrod Bowen after our 2-1 win over Tottenham on Thursday night.
James Ward-Prowse has played a key role for West Ham since joining us from Southampton in the summer for around £30 million, and the same can be said for Jarrod Bowen since he moved to the club in 2020.
The 29-year-old has been a huge asset for the Hammers from set-pieces, and his record of three goals and nine assists in 20 games for us so far really is hugely impressive (Transfermarkt).
He is incredibly unlucky to have been ignored for the recent England squads, and he took a dig at Gareth Southgate after his omission from the last one.
Ward-Prowse seems to have struck up an excellent relationship with Bowen since moving to the London Stadium from the Saints.
The 26-year-old forward scored our equaliser against Spurs on Thursday, before the former Southampton man secured all three points with the winner.
David Moyes has been using Bowen as an auxiliary striker for West Ham recently – a position that the Scot believes he is more than capable of succeeding in.

The 29-year-old Hammers midfielder spoke to reporters after Thursday night’s win over Tottenham in north London.
And Ward-Prowse responded when asked exactly what Bowen is offering when playing as a centre-forward, when speaking on Amazon Prime (Thursday December 7th, 10:21pm):
“It says a lot about him as a player and his personality and his work-rate. People don’t see the work he does off the ball, and he leads the line very well. He’s certainly deserving his goals at the moment for sure.”
Bowen deserves huge praise for the work he is putting in for the club in the centre-forward role.
The 26-year-old never stops running and occupies the opposing defenders throughout the entirety of the game.
Bowen now has 10 goals and three assists in 18 games for the Hammers so far this season (Transfermarkt).
There is so much more still to come from the 26-year-old. Jarrod Bowen is absolutely loved by the West Ham fans and it’s clear to see that James Ward-Prowse is a huge fan of him as well.
