Many players in the modern game don’t have much good to say about their old clubs when they leave but not Pablo Fornals and West Ham.
There was an emotional parting of the ways when West Ham sold Pablo Fornals to Real Betis last month.
The West Ham fan favourite had found himself down the pecking order under David Moyes.
So an exit in the January window – which stretched into February for Fornals – was somewhat inevitable.
But that didn’t make it any easier for Fornals or the Hammers fans who had taken him to the hearts.
Fornals opens up on his love for Hammers
The Spaniard called time on his Hammers career in typically classy fashion – sitting down to deliver a video message to supporters in which he appeared to be fighting back tears.
While Said Benrahma has not had much good to say about West Ham since departing on the same day, the Cockney Carzola is different.
Now Fornals has poured his heart out on West Ham and we challenge you not to shed a tear.

‘You can never leave angry from a place that gave you everything’
Fornals has been speaking to Real Betis’ official website and Hammers fans will now – if it’s possible – love him even more.
“I owe West Ham a lot,” Fornals said, as transcribed from Diario de Sevilla.
“They gave me the opportunity of a lifetime, to fulfil my dream. I have played more than 150 games with them, we have played European nights, magical nights, Europa League semi-finals, winning the Conference League.
“In the end, you can never leave angry or sad from a place that has given you everything and that you have also given or left everything on your part.
“But well, there came a time when the club grew a lot and decided to bring in players paying a lot for them. In the end, that makes your position more competitive, and you don’t enjoy all the minutes you would like.”
What a guy.
Now if you don’t mind, I have something in my eye.
