Pablo Fornals has made an honest admission about West Ham United after he left to join Real Betis on transfer deadline day.
West Ham allowed Pablo Fornals to join the La Liga side in the January transfer window, and Manuel Pellegrini has already been talking up the 27-year-old’s outstanding quality.
Hammers boss David Moyes failed to get the best out of Pablo by always playing him out wide on the left wing.
However, Fornals was due to be out of contract in the summer of 2025, so the £7 million fee (Daily Mail) that we received for him wasn’t bad business at all really.
That didn’t make it any less sad to see the Spaniard leave. He immersed himself into the East End culture and left the London Stadium as an honorary Hammer.

Pablo Fornals makes honest West Ham admission
The Spaniard has been speaking to the Spanish press about his hectic deadline day move to Real Betis from the Hammers.
And Pablo admitted that he was more than happy at the London Stadium before his move, as quoted by Marca:
“We had three days of ups and downs, moments when it seemed that I was there, others when it seemed that I was never going to arrive. The last few hours were very stressful because I had just said goodbye to my former teammates and when I spoke to my agent it seemed like everything was done, but no, what was missing was what used to be the fax and now the little match programme and it didn’t arrive. That day neither my family nor the Bética family slept because we couldn’t, but the next day, when it seemed that everything was going to be sorted out, it was a relief. I identified so much with West Ham and I was so happy with my time there that I couldn’t see myself playing for any other team in England other than West Ham. That’s why my reference to my time there was running out.”
It was clear to see that Fornals loved West Ham as a club, the fans and everything that being a Hammer meant.
However, it is surprising that he was so happy at the London Stadium given his lack of football over the past 18 months and the rough treatment he received from Moyes.
As mentioned earlier, we never got to see the best of Pablo Fornals at West Ham unfortunately.
I have no doubts that he will smash it out in Spain and I’m sure you will join me in wishing him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
