Pablo Fornals sat down for an interview with The Evening Standard and suggested that he would be proud to be a West Ham United fan if he was born in and around the East London/Essex area.
And some Hammers fans reacted on Twitter, praising Pablo for understanding what it truly means to be a West Ham fan.
Fornals joined West Ham from Villarreal in the summer of 2019 for around £25 million (The Telegraph).
The 25-year-old has established himself as a real fan favourite at the London Stadium.
Fornals never stops working and running for the team. He has racked up some decent numbers for a midfielder as well.
The Spaniard has seven goals and eight assists to his name in 69 games for West Ham (Transfermarkt).
Pablo Fornals – A West Ham fan favourite
The Spaniard spoke to The Evening Standard and highlighted how proud he would be if he was born in Essex as a West Ham fan:
“This has been unbelievable. If I was born in Essex as a West Ham fan I’d be proud to be a Hammer. I am playing, trying to help the team in whatever position I play because every day it is a new one or different. I am really proud to be on the pitch helping my teammates.”
Even those who don’t rate Pablo as a player cannot question his commitment, passion and love for the Hammers.
