Nuno Espirito Santo is not one to let West Ham UnitedΒ playersΒ rest on their laurels and that is still true of Valentin Castellanos even amid a productive start to life at the club.Β Β
Since joining from Lazio in early January, Castellanos has scored three goals in 11 games for West Ham United β but that doesnβt tell the whole story.
Indeed, Taty has helped West Ham change their style of play, bringing boundless energy from forward areas to help the Hammers press much more effectively.
Sherwood on Taty π Is he onto something here or has he missed the point entirely? π€

While it remains to be seen just how prolific the Argentine can be, heβs broadly been a successful signing and one that the club confirmed Nuno had pushed for.
Naturally, Nuno is impressed with the forward β but is ready to demand more.
Nuno says he expects more from Taty at West Ham
During his pre-match press conference ahead of Mondayβs game against Brentford in the FA Cup, Nuno said of the striker (via The Athletic): βWe are delighted not only with Taty, but the players that have joined have really brought energy to the team.
βTatyβs doing well and I hope he continues. I think heβs settled really quickly to the Premier League and we expect much more from him.β
Interestingly, Nuno has used this particular style of man-management before.
Vent your frustrations here π Every club has a scapegoat π
Nuno consistently demanded more from Crysencio Summerville after the Dutchman started scoring goals around January, publicly declaring that he wanted more from the winger, as well as the rest of his players.
That has worked out, so far at least. Summerville has been consistently excellent for almost two months now, so itβs clear that Nuno is getting a tune out of him.

If Taty continues to follow suit, it can only be a good thing for West Ham,
Castellanos has been criticised at times but his work rate cannot be questioned.
West Ham do not always get a lot right on the recruitment front but the signings of Taty and Pablo Felipe during the January transfer window have had a profound impact on their attacking line.
Taty could yet keep West Ham in the Premier League after all.
