Nuno Espirito Santo has opened up on West Ham United’s attempts to get Adama Traore fit and firing.

Across three games for West Ham United thus far, Traore has only amassed around 10 minutes of action.

The Spaniard hasn’t particularly impressed in those, though clearly he will need more time to fully prove himself.

Nuno pushed for West Ham to sign Traore, having previously worked with him at Wolves.

He has not made an instant impact, however, and while his lack of game time does need to be taken into account, Hammers fans could be forgiven for feeling somewhat underwhelmed.

Still, Nuno has now revealed that the former Barcelona youngster is doing all that he can to get up to speed imminently.

During Thursday’s pre-match press conference, a reporter asked Nuno what sort of impact Traore has had behind the scenes at the training ground.

Nuno said: “He’s working, he’s working. There are a lot of things to improve. He’s been out of competition for some while but he’s putting all that he can in terms of [the] training sessions.

“We need him to get back to his best.”

Let’s hear it then – what have you made of Adama Traore so far? 🤔

Not much game time but have you seen anything that’s impressed you?

How many games Adama Traore has missed through injury this season

Traore hasn’t officially missed many games through injury this season, but he wasn’t enjoying much first team football at Fulham prior to his departure.

In fact, he didn’t complete a full 90 minutes in the Premier League during his final half-season with the Cottagers, while he’d only been handed 11 minutes of action in the month before he left the club.

A very good omen for Burton… 🏆 🍻

What message do you have for Nuno ahead of the FA Cup 4th round?

Why Adama Traore thinks he can please West Ham fans

Traore thinks his style of play can impress West Ham fans, who would surely love to see some of the lung-busting runs upon which he built his reputation at Wolves.

Perhaps they will come after time and perhaps Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Burton offers a good chance to get fully up to speed.

If Traore can get in a position to start regular matches, it will be interesting to see what Nuno can do with him.
