Nuno Espirito Santo has some big decisions to make as West Ham visit Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in the Premier League.
After losing 2-0 to Liverpool over the weekend, the Hammers will be keen on getting some points on the board.
West Ham are in a relegation battle as they’re on the same number of points as Leeds United in 18th and just one behind 19th-placed Burnley.
Crysencio Summerville ruled out of Manchester United clash
In his pre-match press conference, Nuno confirmed that Crysencio Summerville is ruled out of the Manchester United clash.
The 24-year-old has been an integral player for West Ham this season and has featured in every game he’s been fit for.
Summerville had a hamstring issue for the first two games of the campaign, but since played every match until the Bournemouth one, for which he was ruled out due to a knock.
Ahead of the Liverpool game, Nuno claimed that he was touch-and-go, so the expectation was that he should be fit for the Manchester United one on Thursday.
However, even that match has come too early for the Dutchman, forcing Nuno to look at alternatives at Old Trafford.
Luis Guilherme likely to start for West Ham United
Nuno has no choice but to turn to Luis Guilherme once again and give him a starting role against Manchester United.
When Lucas Paqueta and Summerville were both ruled out against Bournemouth, the 19-year-old was handed a start and he did a decent job on the left wing.
Against Liverpool, he was benched, with Mateus Fernandes playing that role, but when he came off the bench, he was a breath of fresh air.
Unlike Fernandes, Guilherme offers a goal threat and is better at closing opponents down, so Nuno is likely to turn to him.
Fernandes could play a deeper midfield role or could play as a number 10, with Paqueta set to miss this one due to suspension.
This could be the perfect game for Guilherme to silence his critics and show everyone that he’s ready for first-team football in the Premier League.
