Nuno Espirito Santo has described working alongside Baroness Karren Brady as a “pleasure”.
Earlier this week, Brady left her role on the West Ham board after 16 years.
What legacy will Karren Brady leave behind at West Ham? 💭
Brady's favourite moment was the Conference League win 🏆
The news will have been greeted positively among sections of the West Ham United fanbase, with Brady proving to be a divisive figure at times.
Still, Brady was influential in appointing Nuno at West Ham, and the head coach was pleased to have worked with her for a few months.
Nuno enjoyed working with Brady at West Ham
Asked about Brady’s departure during Friday’s pre-match press conference, Nuno said: “She has been very supportive and we’ve had a good relationship. All the board have been supportive through difficult times and it’s been a pleasure working with Karren.”
It will be fascinating to see how the decision to appoint Nuno works out.
David Sullivan was reportedly (via talkSPORT) eager to appoint former Hammers coach Slaven Bilic instead when Graham Potter was sacked, but Nuno got the job after leaving Nottingham Forest.
What CHANGES would you make vs Everton on Saturday?
Adama in? Wilson for Pablo, perhaps?
Right now, that looks like a reasonably successful appointment – even if the jury is still out until the end of the season.
Though things did not start particularly well and Nuno has come under pressure at times, the former Wolves and Tottenham coach is currently on course to keep the team in the Premier League.

To describe him as a masterstroke appointment would be unwise just yet. Still, Brady’s seal of approval has helped West Ham stumble upon a manager with a fine reputation in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Brady plans to continue to focus on her broader business interests and has not ruled out a return to football.
Things are changing behind the scenes at West Ham, although perhaps not to the extent that many unhappy supporters were hoping for.
There is relative uncertainty behind the scenes following Brady’s departure, but Nuno has brought a clarity on the pitch at the very least.
That uncertainty cannot play out onto the pitch ahead of the final five cup finals of the Premier League season.
