Nuno Espirito Santo has known that Baroness Karren Brady’s departure was coming for weeks.
Indeed, on Tuesday, Brady confirmed she was leaving West Ham after 16 years as vice-chair.
While the West Ham ownership has proven to be hugely unpopular, the news did come somewhat out of the blue to the general public.
Sixteen contentious years…
Tell us Brady's most controversial moment…
There have long been protests staged against those in charge, but the actual confirmation was not particularly expected to those outside of the club.
The story, however, is very different within it.
Brady ‘just had enough’ of West Ham tenure
According to The Times, Brady began considering leaving the club back in January.
That decision reportedly came clear in February, and Nuno has known about it for some time.
The report adds that there was no one factor that caused this. Rather, it has been a conclusion that has been reached internally over several weeks.

It’s also claimed that Brady “just had enough” and that she came to the conclusion that just didn’t “need it”.
Those close to Brady are said to have told her that for some time, with the mood around the club turning increasingly toxic.

Karren Brady isn’t the only executive leaving West Ham
As per journalist Jack Rosser, there is more change afoot behind the scenes at West Ham United.
Indeed, commercial director Nathan Thompson has left the club with immediate effect, while financial director Andy Mollett will retire at the end of the season.
It certainly seems as if there are changing winds behind the scenes at the club. Quite whether it’s enough to appease supporters is up for debate.
On the pitch, West Ham need to come together to fight in the final five games of the season. Off it, a changing of the guard is underway.
