The Hammers were cruising in the first-half. We should have gone into the break two or three up.

David Moyes’s men only managed to score one goal against the Red devils, however. The fact that we didn’t finish them off was surely going to come back to bite us. And it did.

Manchester United introduced Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes at half-time and they looked like a different team.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side equalised after 65 minutes through a magnificent strike from Paul Pogba. But the goal should never have counted.

Dean Henderson’s long ball to Bruno Fernandes clearly went out of play and VAR should have ruled the goal out. It didn’t happen, however.

And Trevor Sinclair reacted to the incident on Twitter…

It really is frustrating that VAR can rule out a goal for offside because someone’s armpit was a millimetre in front of an opposing defender but it can’t spot a ball that has gone out of play by at least two yards!

We have had our fair share of luck recently, however. It was only a matter of time before it ran out.

The main reason we lost last night was our profligacy in front of goal. Not VAR’s ineptness.

It’s still incredibly frustrating nonetheless.
