Celebrity Man City fan Noel Gallagher has used West Ham in a brilliant riposte to a jibe from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
There is a strong bond between fans of West Ham and Manchester City.
And if Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold didn’t know that already he does know.
Supporters of the Hammers and Man City have always seemed to click.
There is a respect between West Ham and the Premier League champions that is rare in the modern game.
You only have to look at social media most weekends to see it.
Most West Ham fans will undoubtedly be aware of the big talking point ahead of the game between Manchester City and Liverpool on Sunday.
Reds star Alexander-Arnold raised eyebrows by claiming Liverpool’s trophy wins “probably mean more” because they aren’t as rich as City.

Oasis star Noel Gallagher is a renowned Man City fanatic.
And now Gallagher has brilliantly referenced West Ham to shut down Alexander-Arnold’s Man City jibe.
“For someone to say that a trophy means more to one set of fans, than another set of fans, is the talk of a simpleton,” Gallagher said, as reported by MEN.
“I tell you this, West Ham winning (the Europa Conference League) will have meant as much as that Champions League to us.
“For him to come out with that, even by footballer’s standards he’s a bit dim, isn’t he? I don’t think he was being clever and all those things saying he’s playing mind games – really? What is he, one of the X-Men or something?”

The friendship between Man City and West Ham dates back to 1987 to be precise.
And it was a remarkable gesture from West Ham fans after their 2-0 win over Man City – thanks to goals from Tony Cottee and Liam Brady – which apparently sparked it off.
The first connection between the fans dates back to 1987, whereby on May 9, West Ham relegated City to the second division of English football at the Boleyn Ground.
Many home fans are said to have entered the pitch and headed towards the City faithful positioned in the South Bank. Given the rife culture of football hooliganism – and West Ham’s fearsome reputation among that element – at that time, the police would have been forgiven for being alarmed.
But there was no fighting.
Instead the Hammers chanted “You’ll be back, you’ll be back, you’ll be back” to the travelling City fans, which has remained potent in the minds of City and West Ham fans alike to this day.
There was also said to be a moment shared between the sets of supporters whereby City fans gave their rendition of ‘I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles’ to which the West Ham fans responded with their version of Blue Moon.
