New relegation twist as West Ham survival rival’s star man Wilfried Zaha leaves field in tears with injury during Palace v Leicester.
West Ham are in the thick of the tightest Premier League relegation battle for years alongside the likes of Crystal Palace and seven other clubs.
Just four points separate the nine clubs from 12th to 20th – the least number between those positions at this stage of a season in Prem history.
The battle for survival will undoubtedly be decided by fine margins so West Ham boss David Moyes will take anything he can get – just as his rivals would too.

New relegation twist as West Ham survival rival’s star man Wilfried Zaha leaves field in tears with injury during Palace v Leicester
Earlier this week Hammers News reported on why Crystal Palace will have a big say in whether West Ham are relegated this season.
West Ham vs Southampton and Palace vs Leicester are two of three huge six-pointers at the bottom this weekend.
Now there has been a major development from the latter.
There’s been a new relegation twist as West Ham survival rival’s star man Wilfried Zaha leaves the field in tears with an injury during Palace v Leicester.

Zaha, indisputably Palace’s key hope of avoiding the drop, has limped off with what looks a potentially serious groin injury in Roy Hodgson’s return.
Zaha went down under a challenge and appeared to immediately know the severity of the damage.
Holding his groin, Zaha was quickly assessed by Palace physios before being helped from the pitch, hobbling as he walked off and in tears as he was consoled by Hodgson.
This is a massive development. West Ham fans will be well aware of the Eagles’ dismal record without Zaha.
And Palace will be having a major say in the relegation battle as they play a direct survival rival six weeks in a row – including a game against the Hammers.
