West Ham fans have been there, done it and got the t-shirt but just when they thought they’d heard it all, the most ridiculous reason yet has emerged as to why Nuno Espirito Santo wants out.
And it has absolutely nothing to do with working for Hammers chief David Sullivan or vice-chair Karren Brady.
When rumours start to emerge of unrest in the West Ham camp it is usually the beginning of the end for the manager.
That was the case for David Moyes and ultimately Tim Steidten as well as Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter.
When it comes to results and performances Nuno Espirito Santo doesn’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to the pressure he is under at West Ham.
No wins in 10 games has left the Hammers effectively eight points adrift of safety with 17 games to play.
Journalists now pushing Nuno West Ham unrest narrative
The season looks all but done in the eyes of most, with West Ham now facing an official 89 per cent probability of relegation from the Premier League.
Nuno’s future has been the subject of intense speculation of late.
Out of 10, how CONFIDENT are you that Nuno can still save West Ham?
Beating QPR in the FA Cup is a start…
The Wolves debacle followed by defeat to fellow relegation rivals Forest has seen West Ham hit a new low.
At least seven or eight wins are required in the final 17 games if the Hammers are to survive.
Nuno thinks West Ham can do it – and the owners appear to be backing him with moves in the January transfer window.

But it comes against the backdrop of rumours and revelations from certain journalists of unrest behind the scenes.
In the last couple of days, reporting on alleged leaks from the West Ham camp has focused on Nuno being disliked by players.
There was a claim that Nuno could jump before he is pushed by West Ham for the Wolves job, should it become available.
One journalist reports that Nuno has been sulking from the start at West Ham over a major unresolved issue.
The writing looked to be on the wall yesterday, though.
Nuno looked on the brink at West Ham after damning new leak from the owners which saw a well-paced journalist state that Sullivan is deeply unhappy with the head coach and is considering wielding the axe.
Most ridiculous reason yet why Nuno dislikes West Ham
Nuno’s demeanour and attitude has been questioned, with the same journalist – Jacob Steinberg – previously describing him as ‘distant and uncommunicative on a day-to-day basis’.
It has also been stated Nuno has created a bad atmosphere at Rush Green where morale is ‘low’.
Now the most ridiculous reason yet has emerged for why Nuno dislikes the West Ham job.
Many might suggest working for majority owner Sullivan and Brady would be the most trying part of managing the Irons.
Or perhaps the lack of squad depth and quality available.

Even the lack of atmosphere at the London Stadium off the back of two years of rapid regression and miserable results.
But no, according to The Daily Mail’s Tom Collomosse, there is an altogether more random – albeit noble – reason Nuno isn’t enjoying his time at West Ham.
Collomosse is one of the leading reporters on Midlands football and has connections to Nuno’s camp based on the information he has shared.
He claims Nuno dislikes the West Ham job due to his lack of interaction with charitable causes and the community.
Collomosse states that Nuno ‘fell in love with Wolverhampton’ donating £250k to charities in the city during his final season.
Nuno misses charitable and fan interactions at West Ham
He says Nuno was happy in Nottingham, too because he enjoyed spending time in those places and the chance meetings with fans in the street.
But travelling between West Ham’s training ground and the upmarket apartment complexes of London’s Canary Wharf means such encounters are few and far between and Nuno is unhappy as a result.
Just when West Ham fans thought they had heard it all.
Does Nuno not realise West Ham as a club are the biggest charity case going right now?!
While that is a very noble thing for Nuno to enjoy, surely he has more pressing and important things to worry about right now?
Nuno needs to focus on keeping West Ham in the Premier League so he can work longer at the club which will in turn give him more time to become embedded in the local community.
And this is east London for goodness sake, there are plenty of charitable causes Nuno can be getting involved with.
