Michail Antonio has been handed the number 9 shirt for the upcoming season with Said Benrahma taking the number 22.

The 31-year-old attacker has had the shirt number 30 since he joined the Hammers from Nottingham Forest back in the summer of 2015.
After his goalscoring exploits over the past two seasons, however, a change has been made.

Michy scored 20 goals in his last 50 Premier League games for West Ham (Transfermarkt).
That’s pretty good going for a player who isn’t even a natural striker.

The Algerian was handed the number 9 shirt at the London Stadium by David Moyes when he joined from Brentford last summer.

Benrahma has now been handed the number 22 – a number he has never previously worn throughout his career to date.
Surely Benny has asked for that number. He was certainly never a number 9.
