A new Maxwel Cornet social media post brings huge Kurt Zouma relief after fears over the defender as the West Ham injury situation eases.

There was a massive boost for West Ham this week when injured duo Cornet and Zouma were pictured back in training on social media.

West Ham are in desperate need of five or six wins from their last 15 games to stay in the Premier League.

So David Moyes needs as many of his top players fit and available as possible to stand a chance.

With Gianluca Scamacca also back training and Lucas Paqueta ‘doing bits’, the treatment room has been slowly emptying.

There were concerns among fans this week when Zouma was not seen in a picture gallery of training uploaded to the West Ham website.

Having trained at the start of the week, Zouma was not pictured among the players training in the gallery posted on the club’s official website on Thursday.

That sparked worries the Hammers defender had suffered another setback after lasting one match following his return from knee surgery during the World Cup break.

Now a Cornet social media post brings huge Zouma relief after new fears as the West Ham injury situation eases.

West Ham’s £17.5m summer signing Cornet has posted a picture on his Instagram stories showing Zouma behind him in training.

There will be a collective sigh of relief from West Ham fans.

Because while Zouma has been frustratingly injury prone, there is no doubting we are much better defensively with him in the team.

His pace alongside Nayef Aguerd’s also means we can afford to push higher up the pitch when we get them both playing together.

Whether Cornet or Zouma are fit enough to feature in the must-win clash against Nottingham Forest remains to be seen.

How the Hammers could do with Cornet’s pace, power and goal threat too.

Both will be crucial to West Ham’s hopes of staying up. So let’s keep everything crossed they are back in the side as soon as possible.
