Manuel Lanzini must know his West Ham career is over if one thing happens during Manchester United clash

Manuel Lanzini deserves a big chance for West Ham against Manchester United today, but I highly doubt that David Moyes will start him.

West Ham play host to Manchester United at the London Stadium this evening, and I feel like Manuel Lanzini could make a big difference for us, if David Moyes is brave enough to start him.

The Hammers have averaged around 35% possession in the Premier League this season – a quite frankly embarrassing statistic.

One of our best players at retaining the ball is Lanzini. Amazingly though, Moyes has hardly used him this season, and it’s not out of the question that the 30-year-old could already have played his last Premier League game for West Ham.

If Moyes wants to take the game to Man United today though, the Argentinian ace could make a huge difference for us…

The 30-year-old midfielder has been given just 144 minutes of Premier League action by Moyes this season (Transfermarkt).

That is a real example of the Scot criminally underusing someone who could help us, especially given our current plight.

A midfield three of Declan Rice, Lucas Paqueta and Manuel Lanzini would be more than capable of mixing it with Manchester United in the middle of the pitch.

The problem is that Moyes will definitely play Tomas Soucek if he is fit, and has recovered from illness, due to his aerial ability.

If Manuel Lanzini isn’t given any minutes tonight, he will surely know that his West Ham career is finished.

I really think that Moyes should give the South American a big chance to prove that he has a lot still to give at the very highest level. I just don’t see it happening though, unfortunately.
