El Hadji Malick Diouf’s task may have just got a lot easier this weekend with Andoni Iraola confirming that Antoine Semenyo and Justin Kluivert may be unavailable when West Ham United travel to AFC Bournemouth.
While Nuno Espirito Santo hopes to have Freddie Potts back and Konstantinos Mavropanos part of the travelling party for Saturday’s 3pm kick-off, West Ham United have been handed a major boost in pursuit of three successive Premier League wins.
Malick Diouf has come in for criticism regarding the defensive side of his game in recent weeks. The Hammers left-back may be saved from the formidable threat posed by Antoine Semenyo at the Vitality Stadium though.
Andoni Iraola says Antoine Semenyo is a doubt for Bournemouth v West Ham United
Ghana international Semenyo is a doubt. Ben Gannon-Doak also picked up an injury on international duty with Scotland, meaning Diouf is likely to come up against David Brooks instead.
Justin Kluivert, another of Bournemouth’s greatest goal threats, has been ruled out himself.
“[Semenyo] was already dealing with an ankle injury [before the international break],” Iraola said during his press conference on Friday. “I cannot tell you if he’s going to play tomorrow or not. We will have to see.
“We have had a bad international break. We had confirmed injuries of Justin, an adductor muscle injury. We know Justin is going to be out. Ben Doak also, a hamstring injury. It’s a bad one. He will be out for some time.”
Bournemouth will have defensive midfield enforcer Tyler Adams at their disposal, meanwhile, alongside experienced right-back Adam Smith.
