West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville is likely to be impacted by the latest injury update coming out of Tottenham.
Spurs are currently in the midst of yet another injury crisis, which is not helping them at all in their relegation battle.
They have a full line-up of players missing with just four games to go in the 2025/26 Premier League season.
This will inevitably help West Ham’s chances of survival, as it looks like it is a head-to-head fight between the two clubs.
However, Tottenham’s latest setback could be even more important for Summerville with the World Cup on the horizon.
When was the last time a West Ham player excited you so much?! 😍
Xavi Simons injury opens up World Cup place for Crysencio Summerville
Summerville has represented the Netherlands from the under-16 age group all the way up to the under-21s.
He has yet to make his senior debut, but he was expected to be picked during the March international break.
Unfortunately, a calf injury meant that the 24-year-old missed out on the opportunity and will have to wait for the World Cup.
Still, there is no guarantee that Ronald Koeman will select him for this summer’s tournament in the United States.
Having said that, Summerville’s chances may have improved significantly after Xavi Simons’ ACL injury.
The Tottenham playmaker will not only miss the World Cup this summer but probably most of next season too.
Which West Ham star do YOU think will go the furthest at the World Cup? 🌎
It is always a shame when a player suffers a long-term injury, but it often opens a door for another player to take their chance.
Summerville could be Simons’ replacement in the Holland squad, as he possesses some of the same attributes.
The West Ham star is an eye-catching dribbler and has recently added more goals to his game at the highest level.
Especially if he enjoys a strong end of the season, it would appear highly likely that he will play some part at the World Cup.
Most West Ham supporters will be cheering on England, but Summerville could give them another team to root for.
