Lucas Paqueta has left West Ham fans in complete shock during his post-match interview after the win over Wolves.

There’s nobody better than Lucas Paqueta and now he’s one of our own.

That’s what the West Ham fans sing about their Brazilian magnifico and in the 3-0 win over Wolves he showed why.

Paqueta laid on all three West Ham goals with brilliant passes in a man of the match performance.

With his initial struggles, the interest from Man City and that FIFA and FA investigation, Paqueta has had plenty of distractions during his first 18 months with West Ham.

Star admitted language barrier difficulties

Earlier this year Paqueta attributed some of his difficulties to not speaking English. And he vowed to keep taking lessons to learn and be able to communicate with his Hammers teammates and staff.

“I’m studying (English), I’m trying to learn,” Paqueta said back in April.

“I’m a bit shy to speak. I know some things but I’m understanding it better. I’m looking forward to learning as fast as possible so I can repay the fans and the players as well in English all the love and affection they gave me.”

Since then the £51m midfielder has continued to do any interviews in his native Portuguese.

Paqueta leaves West Ham fans in complete shock

Now Paqueta has left West Ham fans in complete shock during post-match interview.

It’s not what he says that has shocked supporters but rather how he says it.

Because the former Lyon and Milan star has conducted a club interview speaking in fantastic English.

Paqueta appeared alongside best friend and fellow Brazil-born West Ham star Emerson Palmieri in a post-match interview with the club’s media team.

Any fans watching assumed Emerson was there to help translate for Paqueta.

Emerson relieved of interpreter side job

But he delivered his answers in English just as well as he delivered the ball on a plate for Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen against Wolves.

One look at the comments shows how pleased West Ham fans are that Paqueta has been true to his word about learning English.

It shows great dedication and many supporter quipped that he spoke better English that some English people!

There are just two occasions where Paqueta asks Emerson for help. But it’s fantastic to see.

You can hear what Paqueta had to say – in ENGLISH – in the video below.
