West Ham United are all set to take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup third round at Anfield in two week’s time.
Liverpool played host to West Ham in the same competition last year, and they beat us 5-1 in the quarter-final Carabao Cup tie.
The highlight for the West Ham fans on the night was the chant that emerged from the away section labelling Darwin Nunez as a not very good Andy Carroll!
Hopefully it will be a more enjoyable night up on Merseyside for the travelling fans on September 25th.
Even the most ardent of Hammers fans will not be expecting us to beat the Reds in a fortnight – Anfield is just an incredibly difficult place to go and get a result.
However, I do expect us to put up a better fight than we did there in December.
And Liverpool have been handed some bad news ahead of the game.
Liverpool dealt blow ahead of West Ham Carabao Cup clash
Julen Lopetegui will be very keen to bring some real success to the Hammers during his reign at the London Stadium.
David Moyes guided us to our first major trophy in 43 years, despite all the criticism that he received.

And Lopetegui will be desperate to at least match the Scot by winning a trophy.
The Carabao Cup is probably the Spaniard’s best chance to make that happen, and now Liverpool have been dealt an untimely blow ahead of our meeting at Anfield later this month.
Harvey Elliot has suffered a fractured foot, and has been ruled out for around six weeks (The Mirror).
The 21-year-old has established himself as a really important player for Liverpool over the past couple of years.
So not having him available for selection against West Ham will be a big blow for Slot.
West Ham must attack Liverpool
If the Hammers players sit back and invite pressure on them, Liverpool will have their way with us.
That’s exactly what we did at Anfield back in November, and the Reds wiped the floor with us.
With Elliot set to miss out, and Liverpool facing a hectic fixture schedule, West Ham may well not have a better chance to beat them.
Hopefully Lopetegui will set his team up on the front foot, and the West Ham players selected turn up and give Liverpool a really good game in the Carabao Cup.
We’re certainly capable of beating them, but whether or not we do enough on the night to get a result remains to be seen.
