Last night it was talk of a new European Super League that stole all the headlines.
But in typical Jose Mourinho fashion, he wrestled back those headlines today.
Spurs decided to part company with Jose just six days before a huge cup final.

The timing seemed strange to say the least. But it might end up being the right call from the Tottenham chiefs.
Whatever the reasoning for their decision to sack Mourinho matters little now. What’s done is done.
Jose Mourinho sacking is bad news for West Ham
The Hammers are flying high this season. We are currently sitting in fourth spot in the Premier League table with just six games to play.
The opportunity to qualify for the Champions League is well within our reach.
West Ham are currently sitting one point clear of Chelsea and three points ahead of Liverpool.
The gap between the Hammers and Tottenham is five points.
With Mourinho gone now though, the north London outfit may well begin a surge up the table.

Jose was a really unpopular figure amongst most Tottenham fans.
And considering the stale and sterile tactics that he implemented, he was surely not too popular with the Spurs players either.
With Jose now gone, the Tottenham squad may get somewhat of a lift. Whether it’s Ryan Mason who’s handed the reigns for the rest of the season or someone else, Spurs have a clean slate.
Players who were frozen out under Mourinho will now approach the final six games with renewed vigour and enthusiasm.
Tottenham were heading in one direction as a team under the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager. That could all change now, however.
And it could end up being very bad news for West Ham if Spurs start to play with more creative freedom and attacking intent.
