The Hammers are currently sitting pretty in fifth spot in the Premier League table just four points adrift of second placed Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Spurs are languishing down in ninth spot, six points behind David Moyes’s side.

West Ham welcome Tottenham to the London Stadium on Sunday.

Both sides will obviously be desperate for all three points and it should be an absolute cracker.

If the Hammers are to have any chance of finishing inside the top four, we absolutely must beat Spurs on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho makes West Ham prediction

A defeat against Tottenham would bring us back down to reality with a bang.

And Mourinho predicted that the Hammers could soon begin to fall down the table, when speaking to Tottenham Hotspur’s official Youtube account:

“They are doing very well. I believe that in the end of the season their position and our position, they are not going to be the same as where we are now. But praise them for what they are doing. Good Premier League teams with one match per week are in an advantageous position compared to all the others. They have one week to prepare, one week to rest, less injuries and fatigue. It gives them a much better chance.”

Hopefully the West Ham players will read this before the game and take motivation from it.

People outside of the London Stadium clearly think our position in the table this season has been somewhat of a fluke.

It’s time to prove them all wrong.

And three points against Tottenham on Sunday would be a massive statement to the rest of the Premier League.
