Some West Ham United fans have reacted on Twitter to claims suggesting that Liverpool want to sign Declan Rice in the summer.
The Reds have made contact with the agent of the Hammers star according to transfer expert Ian McGarry.
The 22-year-old is West Ham’s best and most important player.
He is absolutely vital to David Moyes and if the East London outfit are to make genuine progress they need to keep hold of him for the foreseeable future.
Rice’s rise in the game has been quite incredible. He has been with West Ham since he was just 14.
And now, nearly eight years later, he a fully established star for both club and country.
The Times claims that the Hammers value the 13-capped England international at around £80 million.
It could be argued that Dec is worth so much more than that to West Ham, however.
In fact, it wouldn’t be over the top to say that he is priceless to the Hammers.
Let’s hope that the West Ham owners dig their heels in. We need to make the 22-year-old club captain and give him a massive pay-rise. Basically, West Ham should be doing absolutely everything within their powers to keep him at the London Stadium.
