John Terry has blasted Henry Winter for a pathetic dig at West Ham star Kurt Zouma after what he noticed before the Chelsea clash.
There is no love lost between West Ham and Chelsea or indeed between Hammers fans and John Terry.
The legendary former Chelsea defender comes from a family of West Ham fanatics and left the Hammers as a 14-year-old to join the Blues.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Terry had back and forth with West Ham fans throughout his career. He would often goad West Ham about their lack of silverware by holding imaginary trophies aloft in the direction of the Hammers support.

West Ham fans would respond with their own retorts, most of which cannot be repeated here!
Terry once revealed his dad “absolutely kicked off” when he left West Ham to sign for Chelsea.
And the ex England defender even remembers scoring for Chelsea against West Ham and spotting his dad and uncle in crowd both “screaming abuse” at him.
Well now the Chelsea academy coach has leapt to a West Ham star’s defence after an unnecessary dig from a well known journalist.
Terry has blasted Henry Winter for a pathetic dig at West Ham star Kurt Zouma after what he noticed before the Chelsea clash.

Winter drags up the past for needless dig at Hammers star
Zouma, as he was against Bournemouth in the opening game, was named captain for West Ham’s first home game of the season against their London rivals.
Winter was disappointed by that fact and made it clear with a jibe about Zouma not being fit to wear the armband after his cat-kicking scandal back in February 2022.
“Kurt Zouma captains West Ham,” Winter said.

Terry puts Winter in his place over ‘poor’ comment
“Why not James Ward-Prowse? He’s obviously new to the club but he’s a natural captain and he’s never kicked a cat.”
Terry, who knows Zouma from their time together at Chelsea, took umbrage at Winter’s juvenile dig.
“Poor tweet from you Henry Winter,” Terry responded.
Winter tried to explain himself to Terry by suggesting fans had been debating the West Ham captaincy.
But Terry just ignored him.
“I can see why fans debating the captaincy issue here, John,” Winter said.
“Ward-Prowse a good captain at Southampton, although as pointed out he’s making his debut, and Zouma has had issues. Regards.”
Forget kicking the cat, the point about making Ward-Prowse captain after six days at the club is nonsense too
But Winter’s panicked reply – not one fan inside the London Stadium was debating Zouma’s captain credentials before, during or after the match – suggests he realised he had made a mistake needlessly dragging up the past for a dig at the West Ham defender.
Zouma soon made Winter eat his words too. The centre-back responded with an excellent captain’s performance Terry would have been proud of as the Hammers won 3-1.
And even taking the cat kicking dig out of the equation, the suggestion that Moyes would just hand Ward-Prowse the captaincy after being with the club for six days was complete nonsense from such an experienced football journalist.
