There is a new era in full swing at West Ham United now, and Joe Cole has made a prediction about where we’ll finish in the Premier League table this season.

Joe Cole is hugely admired by the West Ham fans, and often attends our games throughout the season for punditry duty.

This campaign should be quite the ride for everyone involved with the club.

The Hammers are on the cusp of a bright new era with Julen Lopetegui at the helm, with the Spaniard having made eight excellent new signings already this summer.

Lopetegui has already suggested that his business is far from finished either, with the end goal to have two top quality players in every single position at the London Stadium.

It has been suggested that the West Ham head coach has been given the remit of getting us back inside the European spots.

But where does Cole envisage us ending up come May?

Despite the incredible transfer business completed by Lopetegui this summer, he still deserves some time and plenty of patience from the fans.

He will be overseeing a huge change in playing style and tactics from what David Moyes served up during his time at the London Stadium.

In addition to that, eight players have arrived and six have left, so it will undoubtedly take time for the new group to gel together.

Should things click quickly though, the Hammers will undoubtedly be a very big problem for every club in the Premier league.

Joe Cole spoke to TNT Sports about his former club, and responded when asked where we will finish in the table this season.

He said, Top 10.

Whilst fairly vague from Cole, I do agree with him.

I think that a top 10 finish during his first season in charge of West Ham would be acceptable from Lopetegui.

Meanwhile, a top seven finish would have to go down as a big success.

However, should the Hammers end up finishing inside the bottom half, then questions will need to be asked of the 57-year-old, given the sheer volume of quality players he has at his disposal.

This is the most excited I have been about our club in a long, long time, and I’m backing us to finish seventh or eighth this season.

Joe Cole thinks we’ll be inside the top 10 come May, and I reckon he’s bang on the money.
