Joe Cole has raved about two West Ham United players, and labelled them as ‘absolute quality’, after our 1-0 win over Olympiacos last night.
West Ham earned a vital three points against Olympiacos at the London Stadium, and we now have top spot in Europa League Group A well within our reach – it’s in our own hands in fact.
Hammers boss David Moyes would have been disappointed with the performance of his team but in the end, it’s the result that matters most.
Joe Cole was a guest in the TNT Sports studios for the game last night, and he watched on as James Ward-Prowse and Lucas Paqueta combined to put West Ham 1-0 up.

West Ham duo stood out vs Olympiacos
Joe Cole raved about Paqueta and Ward-Prowse last night, after the 29-year-old chipped a magnificently delicate ball into the Olympiacos box for the Brazilian to volley home into the back of the net.
Cole praised the Hammers duo to the hilt on TNT Sports (Thursday November 9th, 9:59pm):
“Two absolute quality players, it was just a moment of magic.”
Cole is right, the link-up play between the two for the goal really was quality.
However, the all-round performance from the team on the whole was anything but quality. It’s a real concern how poor we’ve been in recent months.
There just doesn’t seems to be any kind of pace and zip about our passing and everything is just too laboured.
I would say it was painful to watch last night but a win is a win at the end of the day. We’ve just got to be thankful that we have so many technically gifted players who can drag us out of a hole when we’re not performing.
It was vital that West Ham beat Olympiacos last night and in fairness to Moyes and the boys, they got the job done. On to the next one.
