Jesse Lingard took to Twitter after Manchester United beat West Ham 2-1 at the London Stadium yesterday afternoon.
The Manchester United ace’s bother got in on the act as well, taking to Instagram to post a heartfelt message to the Hammers fans.
Lingard spent four months on loan with West Ham last season and he was a huge hit in East London.
The 28-year-old returned to Manchester United at the end of last season, however, much to the sadness of many Hammers fans, David Moyes and the players.
West Ham tried to sign Jesse all summer long but it just didn’t happen. He ended up staying at Old Trafford and will now fight for his place under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer up until January at least.
Lingard return to West Ham yesterday and it was an inevitability that he would come back to haunt us.
He did exactly that, scoring the eventual winner for Manchester United in the 89th minute.

The England international chose not to celebrate in his usual jovial fashion.
And that respect was reciprocated from the West Ham fans. It was nice to see from both sides.

I think we can all agree that Jesse would have been a fantastic signing for us in the summer.
It didn’t happen though. Now it’s time for us to move on as a club. And let’s keep our fingers crossed that he doesn’t haunt us once again on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup clash!
