Jarrod Bowen shares what he’s noticed from West Ham training sessions since Graham Potter’s arrival

West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen has only just returned to full training from a five-week spell on the sidelines.

Jarrod Bowen worked exceptionally hard to recover from a broken foot, and he made his long awaited return to the first-team for West Ham‘s clash with Chelsea on Monday night.

And he didn’t disappoint, with a quite sensational performance at Stamford Bridge.

The Hammers captain is so important to everything good that we do as a club.

With Graham Potter in charge at the London Stadium now, I fully expect Bowen to go from strength to strength.

He certainly looked on top form during our clash with Chelsea.

Now everyone else has to raise their levels as well.

Jarrod Bowen has noticed something from West Ham training

The 28-year-old has been watching on from the sidelines since the end of December.

That must have been painful for the former Hull City star – he just loves playing football for West Ham.

I cannot wait to see him get back to his best under the guidance of Potter.

And the captain has clearly noticed some big changes over the past few weeks.

Bowen spoke to reporters about the change in attitude amongst the team since Potter’s arrival at the London Stadium, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“I’ve been watching it for the last few weeks and the lads look different. The lads have got real good energy about them. The manager’s driving that every single day.

That’s really encouraging to hear, and the proof’s in the pudding.

The Hammers’ performances since Potter rocked up in East London have been much improved from the Julen Lopetegui and David Moyes days.

Future very bright with Bowen back and Potter at the helm

I’m hugely excited about what lies in wait for us.

There have been really encouraging signs from the Hammers recently, especially during our last two games.

The frustrating thing is that those matches away at Aston Villa and Chelsea yielded just one point.

The performances were full of energy and intensity, with the forward players and midfielders pressing with aggressiveness and cohesion.

It’s like night and day from the first-half of the season, and the second-half of the 2023/24 campaign.

The thing that really excites me is that West Ham now have Jarrod Bowen back in the team, and at least one week between all of our fixtures between now and the end of the season.

That gives Potter plenty of time to instil his footballing philosophy into the players’ minds until it becomes muscle memory.

Hugely exciting times ahead, I have no doubts about that.
