West Ham United took on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League tonight.
It took a while for the game to get going but West Ham were pretty comfortable throughout in my opinion.
Chelsea weren’t at their best, and Graham Potter‘s Hammers side were well organised and more than competitive.
We took the lead not long before half-time, and it was the way that the goal came about that was so pleasing.
West Ham pressed Chelsea aggressively from the front and Jarrod Bowen finished brilliantly.
However, Chelsea came back with goals from Pedro Neto (very fortunately so), and an Aaron Wan-Bissaka own goal.

There were plenty of positives to take from the game for the Hammers, but some negatives as well.
And two players in particular perfectly summed up that contrast.
9/10 star sizzles for West Ham vs Chelsea, 5/10 man stinks
The Hammers made things really hard for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
There was one standout performer in my eyes, but one real letdown as well.
Bowen was sensational for the Hammers against Chelsea.
He pressed from the front with aggression and efficiency, and he was a constant menace for the Chelsea back-line.
How we’ve missed our captain fantastic.
The way that Bowen took his goal to put West Ham 1-0 up was quite simply sensational.
The 28-year-old is such an important player for the Hammers, and we are quite clearly a much better team when he’s in it.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Mohammed Kudus right now.
The 24-year-old gave the ball away numerous times in dangerous areas tonight.

It happened twice inside the first-half and both times he nearly cost us goals by losing possession.
Jarrod Bowen and Mohamed Kudus like chalk and cheese
Kudus’s performances recently have reeked of someone who doesn’t want to be here anymore.
The Ghana international has an £85 million release clause inserted into his current contract with the Hammers – one that becomes active in July.
I wouldn’t be surprised one little bit if he leaves the London Stadium in the summer.
Jarrod Bowen proved against Chelsea that he is far and away West Ham’s best player. Meanwhile, Kudus flattered to deceive once again.
The two players really are like chalk and cheese.
If I were in the trenches, I’d want Bowen right next to me, but I don’t get that feeling about Kudus.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the former Ajax man in a few month’s time.
