Jarrod Bowen will learn his chances of going to the World Cup when Thomas Tuchel announces his latest England squad.

Tuchel is set to name his squad for England’s upcoming friendlies against Uruguay and Japan at 10am on Friday, 20 March.

As it is the last international break of the 2025/26 season, all the attention will be on England’s preparation for the World Cup.

Bowen is expected to be on the fringe of the Three Lions squad, so he will be nervously awaiting a phone call from Tuchel.

Jarrod Bowen will soon realise his England World Cup chances

Jarrod Bowen faces an anxious wait to find out whether he will play for England in the upcoming international break.

He will have more opportunities to impress Tuchel at West Ham, but this will be his last chance in an England shirt before the World Cup.

Bowen is in excellent form with the Hammers, providing four goals and five assists in his last 10 appearances in all competitions.

While this suggests he should be in the next England squad, there will be major concerns about his World Cup chances if he is left out.

Would you rather sell Bowen or Summerville this summer?

Bukayo Saka will most definitely be England’s first-choice right winger at the World Cup, so Bowen is fighting for a place on the bench.

For that position, he is probably up against Arsenal’s Noni Madueke, who has contributed just two goals and one assist in 20 Premier League games this season.

Therefore, if Madueke were still to be selected over Bowen this week, it is hard to imagine that the West Ham man will go to the World Cup.

Of course, there is a slim chance that both players could make the squad. In that case, the debate will be settled by Tuchel’s team selections against Uruguay and Japan.
