West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen has openly praised one of his teammates, and it might just surprise you who he’s been raving about.
Jarrod Bowen was named as the West Ham club captain recently, so he will have a far greater influence on the squad this season.
Before Julen Lopetegui named the 27-year-old as the new Hammers skipper, there was uncertainty surrounding his future at the London Stadium.
Jarrod Bowen was being heavily linked with a move to Newcastle but if truth be told, he was always going to stay at West Ham.
The former Hull City star is heavily respected at the London Stadium, so anything he says should be taken as gospel.
Bowen was speaking to reporters after our win over Palace and opened up on his admiration of one unsung Hammer.

The Hammers put in poor performance during the first-half against Crystal Palace, but we managed to turn things around in the second-half.
Julen Lopetegui would have been delighted with that way that his players responded after the break.
And one man played a key role in West Ham’s victory, according to Bowen.
The Hammers skipper was blown away by the performance of Tomas Soucek against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Bowen had high words of praise for Soucek after our 2-0 win over Palace on Saturday, as quoted by WHUFC.com.
The 27-year-old said, “He scores, and then he spins around for ten minutes! No, he’s always in the right position, always gets chances. It was the same last week as well against Aston Villa, he’s always, always in the right place, and he took the goal beautifully. I was hoping it was going to take another deflection and fall to my feet! I’m buzzing for him, and he deserves it. He was massively important to us getting over the line today to get the three points.”
It was claimed 11 days ago that Tomas Soucek is actually open to leaving West Ham this summer.
Soucek has often been criticised by the Hammers fans over the past year or so, and rightly so as far as I’m concerned.
The Czech Republic international is arguably the worst midfielder in the Premier League with the ball at his feet.
However, he offers us so much in so many different aspects of the game.
His main strength is his aerial ability, and he plays a key role for us in that respect in both penalty boxes.
After all, you wouldn’t expect the pilot to start handing out duty free would you? Some players specialise in certain areas, and struggle in others.
Jarrod Bowen is clearly of the opinion that Tomas Soucek’s pros far outweigh his cons for West Ham.
Whether Lopetegui agrees with that notion over the next few years remains to be seen though.
