Some Hammers fans thought that Moyes should be signing a more athletic, physically dominating central midfielder, but I think the 28-year-old will be perfect for us – and Jamie Redknapp clearly thinks the same.

Ward-Prowse is well-renowned for his ability from set-pieces but he really does offer so much more than that.
And Redknapp alluded to that fact this afternoon…
Jamie Redknapp says people have been disrespectful towards West Ham ace James Ward-Prowse
Redknapp was a guest on Sky Sports’ showing of the West Ham vs Chelsea clash today.
And he absolutely raved about Ward-Prowse (Sunday August 20th, 4:12pm):

“I think we talk so often about his set-pieces, but that’s almost disrespectful, because what he does apart from that is he presses people well, he’s comfortable on the ball and he can make interesting passes. I’m a massive fan of him, he’s improved so much over the years.”
Redknapp is absolutely spot on here in my opinion – the 11-capped England international will go on to be a great signing for us.
West Ham have been crying out for someone like James Ward-Prowse for quite some time now.
Hopefully he hits the ground running for the Hammers.
