It’s the ‘big six‘ and then West Ham as English football’s financial powerhouses says a new chart shared by a respected expert.
When West Ham were pushing to leave their Upton Park for the London Stadium in Stratford fans were told it would help the club compete with the Premier League elite.
Well it seems that has proved to be the case, certainly from a financial perspective, seven years on from the big move.
West Ham may be struggling this season down at the wrong end of the table.
But their rise in the two seasons prior, success in Europe and increased stadium capacity has combined to make the Hammers one of the highest earning clubs in Europe.

West Ham were ranked the world’s 15th highest earning club in the Deloitte Money League for 2023.

It’s the ‘big six’ and then West Ham as English football’s financial powerhouses says a new chart.
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire took to social media at the weekend to share revenue and income charts for Premier League clubs.
And it shows the so-called “big six” leading the way closely followed by West Ham.
Man City top the chart with £613m total revenue recorded in their 2021 accounts. They are followed by Man United (£583), Liverpool (£487), Spurs (£444m), Chelsea (£435m) and Arsenal (£369m).

But next in line is West Ham with £253m. That figure actually rose again in the latest accounts to around £266m according to Deloitte.
It puts the Hammers over £25m ahead of the next highest earning club Leicester. And between £60-140m ahead of everyone else in the Premier League too.
As reported by Hammers News last week, West Ham are effectively one transfer away from reaching the £1bn spend milestone since the inception of the Premier League.
Speaking exclusively to Hammers News recently, Maguire lifted the lid on what he’s heard behind the scenes about a West Ham takeover.
