West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta has been the standout midfield performer in the Premier League this season.
Lucas Paqueta has been in sensational form for West Ham, and we’ve really missed him over the past month or so that he’s been out injured.
The Brazilian is expected to return to action soon, and Hammers boss David Moyes will be desperate to have him back and involved.
The influential 26-year-old has bagged five goals and six assists in 27 games for West Ham this season (Transfermarkt).
His all around impact on our performances has been incredible to witness, and in fact, it’s quite concerning just how reliant we are on him.

Now a stat has emerged proving just how influential Paqueta is inside the final third…
Lucas Paqueta head and shoulders above all Premier League midfielders
The former Lyon star is incredibly brave when is comes to his choice of pass. He nearly always tries to move the ball forward and make things happen for us in an attacking sense.
Now a statistic has emerged highlighting just how ambitious he is with the ball at his feet, via Data MB:
So, judging by those numbers, Paqueta is head and shoulders above every other Premier League midfielder, when it comes to passing the ball forward and making big chances for his teammates.
The only thing I will say to caveat that is the fact that Kevin De Bruyne has barely played this term.
He has only played three Premier League games this season, and had he been fit all season, I would fully expect him to be at the top of this graph in both metrics.
One thing that is certain is the fact that West Ham are quite simply not the same team without the South American.
Lucas Paqueta has been the standout midfielder in the Premier League this season, so it’s little wonder why we’ve missed him so badly.
