West Ham face a crucial game against Arsenal this weekend amid the Premier League relegation battle.
While Arsenal are challenging for the title, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team need a positive result to keep their survival hopes alive.
Relegation rivals Tottenham have a much easier fixture against Leeds at home, meaning West Ham cannot afford to lose.
Gabby Agbonlahor has now explained how the Hammers’ Championship fate could be sealed in the next few days.

How would a draw with Arsenal make you feel about our survival chances? 🤔
West Ham would still be below Spurs on goal difference… 😬
Gabby Agbonlahor warns West Ham could be relegated this weekend
Agbonlahor claimed that West Ham’s clash with Arsenal is their most important game of the last decade.
While many would argue the Conference League final was bigger, this weekend arguably has greater implications.
An Arsenal victory would see the Hammers take one step closer to the Championship after 14 years in the top flight.
The good news is that Agbonlahor would not be surprised by a score draw at the London Stadium on Sunday.
“They’re playing a West Ham team that this is probably their biggest game in the last 10 years. This is like a cup final,” he said.
“I imagine the atmosphere is going to be electric. They’re going to be fighting for their lives. It wouldn’t surprise me if it is a 1-1 or 2-2 draw.”
Agbonlahor then reiterated the importance of the match by suggesting that West Ham could be relegated on Monday.
If the Hammers lose to Arsenal and Tottenham beat Leeds, the ex-Aston Villa man would declare the relegation battle to be over.
“It’s scary how much they need a result because Leeds are safe,” Agbonlahor added. “It wouldn’t surprise me if Spurs beat Leeds; then it’s a four-point difference.
If we are to get a RESULT vs Arsenal, how do you think we’d do it? 🧐
“If West Ham get a result, the pressure is back on Spurs. But if West Ham lose, Spurs know they will be four points ahead if they win, with two games to go and a better goal difference.
“West Ham still have to go to Newcastle away. I think it will be done if West Ham lose and Spurs win.”
The odds are now stacked against West Ham after their defeat to Brentford and Spurs’ unlikely win against Aston Villa.
However, the same could have been said months ago when it looked like they would be relegated with several games to spare.
Nuno’s side have proven that they can match anyone on their day, so Arsenal could be in for a surprise.
