There was heartache for West Ham United stars Kurt Zouma and Pablo Fornals when France beat Spain in the Nations League final last night.
West Ham favourite Fornals is one of the first names on David Moyes’s teamsheet.
And the Spaniard is now closely followed by West Ham’s £29 million summer signing Kurt Zouma, who has been hugely impressive in his appearances so far.

Contrasting international situations for West Ham duo Zouma and Fornals
Fornals has been so good for West Ham he earned a recall to the Spain squad last month.
And the midfield ace was selected again by Spain boss Luis Enrique for the Nations League finals squad.
Fornals played a huge part in Spain’s Under 21s winning the European Championships back in 2019.
And the West Ham star looked set to taste more international glory with his country when they went 1-0 up against France in the Nations League final on Sunday night.

Heartache for Fornals AND Zouma as France beat Spain to lift Nations League trophy
There was heartache for Fornals, though, as Spain threw away their lead to lose a pulsating game 2-1 – despite the Hammer’s best efforts to carve out an equaliser when coming on as a late substitute.
But as France lifted the trophy there was heartache for Fornal’s teammate Zouma too.
Moyes’s prime summer target was a fixture in the France starting XI before he left Chelsea for West Ham at the end of August.

Ruthless Deschamps has previous when it comes to snubbing West Ham stars
Deschamps has previous when it comes to West Ham having initially refused to call up Dimitri Payet and snubbing Sebastien Haller.
Zouma was part of the France team which flopped somewhat at the Euros in the summer.
But he would have had to watch on as his country won the Nations League trophy without him.

Very different outlooks at top level for Hammers duo
Deschamps has created a difficult situation for West Ham with his snub.
At 26 Zouma will not want to feel his international hopes are hindered just because he plays for a so-called “smaller club” after his move to West Ham.
Fornals looks to have an exciting future as part of an impressive new-look Spain squad bristling with young talent.
But the opposite looks to be true for Zouma who instead faces a fight to force his way back into Deschamps plans.
