Graham Potter’s West Ham United tenure still hasn’t quite taken off yet.
It’s still very early days, but on the whole, Graham Potter has struggled to implement his ideas at West Ham.
However, it will obviously take time for his footballing philosophy to really take off, and let’s face it, a lot of the players won’t still be at the London Stadium next season anyway.
The performance against Bournemouth on Saturday highlighted how many players need shipping out, as Graham Potter and his West Ham flops left the pitch at half-time to a chorus of boos.

Things will get better in time, I’m convinced of it. Potter needs at least two or three transfer windows to bring in the players he thinks he needs to suit his system.
However, it seems like he could actually be quite flexible regarding the playing style he wants to implement at West Ham.
Graham Potter says he may change system because of West Ham player
Potter called out his underperforming West Ham players on Friday, but they still took far too long to wake up against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The football looked extremely slow and clunky at times, and lacked the required intensity, energy and dynamism.
The 49-year-old is a fierce exponent of possession-based football.
He has implemented that style in every job he’s had in football throughout his career so far.
However, the majority of players Potter currently has at his disposal simply aren’t conducive with playing that style of football.

So could he mix things up? You bet he could, but only because of one man – Niclas Fullkrug.
The 32-year-old scored his first goal for the Hammers at the London Stadium on Saturday, and he really did impress with his attitude, commitment and quality.
Graham Potter makes Niclas Fullkrug admission
Potter recently suggested that West Ham have really missed Fullkrug’s unique profile this season.
The Hammers head coach spoke to reporters after the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.
And he was full of praise for the big German, as quoted via WHUFC.com:
“Sometimes in the Premier League, it’s not easy to go from the goalkeeper through the team to attack and create stuff and I think Niclas gives us that out ball.
“He gives us a focal point. He gives us a chance to get second balls. He gives us a chance to attack quicker, a bit more vertically.“
So there you have it, Graham Potter is willing to change his system at West Ham at times due to Niclas Fullkrug’s qualities.
I must admit, I always assumed that Potter was one of those managers who stuck to his principals at all costs, whatever players he had available to him.
So to hear that he’s open to being flexible regarding the way his team plays really is good to hear.
