Glen Johnson has delivered a really strange take on the current situation that West Ham United find themselves in.
West Ham are in real trouble at the moment, and are currently sitting in 16th spot in the Premier League table, only two points clear of the relegation zone.

David Moyes has overseen a really poor campaign for the Hammers this season, and he is under severe pressure in his role at the London Stadium.
We face a huge game against Tottenham on Sunday followed by clashes with Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Aston Villa.
The outcome of those four matches could end up defining our season. Relegation is a very real possibility for West Ham this term, but Glen Johnson believes we’ll be just fine. His reasoning for that is rather baffling though…
Glen Johnson delivers West Ham relegation verdict
The ex-Hammer has spoken to Football.London about West Ham United’s current ongoing struggles in the Premier League.
And Johnson responded when asked whether he believes that West Ham have enough to avoid the drop this season:
“I think they will, it’s typical West Ham sometimes because they’ll beat Man United and then they will lose what feels like a relatively simple home game. It’s frustrating to watch, but once they string a couple of performances together I think they have got enough to stay out of it.”
Ok, so it’s clear that Glen Johnson hasn’t watched us in a while isn’t it!
The last time West Ham beat one of the traditional big six in the Premier League was December 2021 – a 3-2 win at home to Chelsea. The Hammers haven’t won away against Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur in the league since November 2019 when we won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Glen Johnson is clearly referring to the time when he was at West Ham, when we were actually capable of turning over the big boys.
Since Moyes took over at the London Stadium, our results and performances against the top six have gone from bad to worse.
So Johnson’s reasoning for thinking West Ham will avoid the drop is just utterly bizarre. If the Hammers are going to stay up, we will do it by winning the games against the teams in and around us in the Premier League table.
