Frederik Alves insisted that he feels good sitting on the bench at West Ham United and is happy to be patient and bide his time, when speaking exclusively to Tips Bladet.

The Hammers signed the promising 21-year-old centre-back from Silkeborg for a fee believed to be worth around £1.4 million (Transfermarkt).
The young Dane was extremely highly regarded in his home country before moving to the London Stadium.
He is still yet to be picked by David Moyes for the senior side, however.
Alves has been selected six times for West Ham’s match-day squads. He is yet to make an appearance for the Hammers, however.

The 21-year-old has played four games for West Ham’s under 23’s. He does seem to be a long way off being ready to play regularly for the Hammers’ senior side, however.
Alves told Tips Bladet how he is happy to bide his time in the knowledge that his time will eventually come:
“It is of course challenging one against one defensively, and it goes fast with the ball when we play. But I can play along. I am, since I came here, surprised that it’s not harder. This is a positive surprise, which I welcome. So, I work hard to get into the team and get higher up the hierarchy. It’s moving forward and Moyes is happy with me. So is the assistant, because I’ve been told that I’m going to go get a few minutes on the field, but it’s hard when the team does well. I feel good sitting on the bench, being around the team.”
Alves will undoubtedly get his chance soon.
He has all of the basic ingredients needed to go on and become a truly top class centre-back.
The Dane just needs to bide his time. As long as Alves adapts to the robust and intense nature of the Premier League, he will be just fine.
