Forget Cristiano Ronaldo and CR7 West Ham could have their own iconic shirt with a bit of imagination over new signing Alex Kral's squad number

As far as iconic shirts go the Cristiano Ronaldo CR7 brand which has been reinstated at Manchester United takes some beating but West Ham United may have a bit of fun of their own.

Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United has seen the club granted special permission to switch Ronaldo to the famous number seven shirt which was taken by Edinson Cavani.

Forget CR7 West Ham could have their own iconic new shirt number with a bit of imagination

New boy Kurt Zouma has taken the number four.

And while Man United fans flock to get their CR7 shirts, some West Ham fans have been pointing out that the Hammers could have an iconic shirt name and number of their own in the making.

With a bit of imagination new deadline day midfield signing Alex Kral could take the vacant 47 shirt for AK47 as West Ham look to blast their way to another excellent season.

Ironically the AK47 comes from Russia, just like Czech Republic star Kral who has been signed from Spartak Moscow.

Vlasic looks a cert for 11, 21 is not available so could it be the AK47 from Russia?

Kral’s fellow deadline day arrival at West Ham, Nikola Vlasic, looks almost certain to take the vacant number 11 shirt – although long-term he will surely inherit the number 10 from Manuel Lanzini.

Kral has worn 21 for Czech Republic, but that is taken by Angelo Ogbonna at West Ham.

The more senior West Ham fans won’t give two hoots about who has what shirt number and the branding.

But young supporters, particularly the FIFA generation, love that side of the game and West Ham might be missing a trick not to jump on it.

All fun and games but branding is key in FIFA generation, just look at Grealish partnering with Call of Duty

Having said that the club may be keen to steer clear of the gun element.

Although young fans nowadays spend much of their time playing first person shooter games such as Call of Duty – a game in which Man City and England star Jack Grealish features doing kick-ups with a grenade.

It’s all a bit of fun at the end of the day. Kral’s West Ham squad number will surely be announced soon. So it will be interesting to see what number he and the club chooses.

In other news, David Moyes has surely found game-changing solution to major West Ham problem.

And ‘UEFA will fine him’ West Ham star Rice drinks the boos with brilliant England celebration.
